21st Century Learners and more…..
While catching up on the reading I see that I have missed out on some interesting postings. I found a reference to Phaedru’s video

and it really made me think. The video made me see just how connected we really are to anything we need to know. It seems to have quietly slipped in on me. I then looked for the first video that Dr. Lowell referred to when he mentioned his age which is just 3 years older than I.

It made me see that I don’t wish to compare my accomplishments to his! I thought I had accomplished so much by graduating from college at 49 years of age and I was correct! For a high school dropout that is quite an accomplishment!
Nonetheless, I also looked at the number of computers in his household 8 to our 6 with 3 in our household. We have 3 desktops two of which are used on a daily basis and 3 notebooks 2 old ones, one of which is connecting X box to the web and one new one which I use for this class. We have 4 digital cameras and just 1 mp3 player which I received for Christmas still need to program. (Another task for this spring break week.) However we also have 5 TVs. Mine is used for background noise. I don’t think we are as productive with the connections as he.
My goodness I can’t keep up with all that he does! However I am here to say that I am a 21st century learner who is never going to do as much and I’m fine with that. I simply want to be able to stay connected and up to date as much as I possibly can. I believe he is giving us the tools in these courses to do this. I hope I can pass this on to my students as he has to us.
I think the videos are, to say the least, very interesting!! By the way Senor Lowell, what is your Facebook ID? I want to add you.

I’ve sent a friend request to you.
